Happy 20th Anniversary ‘Toy Story’!

20 years ago, a small film titled ‘Toy Story’ was released by Disney and Pixar, taking audiences around the world to infinity, and beyond! ‘Toy Story’ truly was revolutionary, being the first CGI-animated feature film in history, as well as the first of many extraordinary films released by Pixar Animation Studios. ‘Toy Story’ also launched one of my personal favorite franchises of all, with all three films being masterpieces. Happy 20th anniversary, ‘Toy Story’! And thank you for the amazing memories, Disney, Pixar, and to the rest of the cast and crew who worked on all three movies! Now let me end this with a song I’m sure everyone has heard at least once:

First ‘Finding Dory’ Trailer Released

‘Finding Dory’, the sequel to 2003’s ‘Finding Nemo’ has finally been released, and it’s pretty nostalgic:

Interesting thing I noticed was that, while subtle, I think the character models seem to have been updated a bit, making them all look better than they did over a decade ago. ‘Finding Dory’ arrives in theaters next summer on June 17, 2016.

Disney Announces Major Release Dates Through 2020

Today, Disney has made major announcements for upcoming Pixar and Marvel movies, which include release dates and surprising announcements…

The Incredibles 2

The highly anticipated sequel to 2004’s acclaimed ‘The Incredibles’ will now officially arrive on June 21st, 2019, thus replacing ‘Finding Dory’ as the Pixar sequel with the biggest gap between its release date, and the release date of its predecessor.

Toy Story 4

Originally supposed to be released in summer 2017, the fourth ‘Toy Story’ movie has been delayed a year, and will instead be released on June 15th, 2018. I’m actually glad that ‘Toy Story 4’ got delayed by a year, as it’ll hopefully give the filmmakers some extra time to make sure they make a movie that can be as excellent as the three acclaimed movies before it.

In other Pixar news, ‘Cars 3’ will be released June 16th, 2017, replacing ‘Toy Story 4’ as Pixar’s 2017 summer release. Also releasing in 2017 is Pixar’s ‘Coco’, arriving in theaters on November 22, 2017. Additionally, two untitled Pixar projects have been announced for March 13th, 2020 and June 19th, 2020. And now, time for some Marvel news…

Ant-Man and the Wasp

In what is probably the most surprising news Disney announced, it’s that the awesome ‘Ant-Man’ movie will be getting a sequel, and much sooner than expected. ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’ will be releasing on July 6th, 2018, and will be added to the MCU’s Phase 3 lineup.

Black Panther & Captain Marvel

With the announcement of ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’ taking the release date of ‘Black Panther’, that meant another reshuffling of the MCU’s Phase 3 lineup. ‘Captain Marvel’, originally slated for November 2nd, 2018, will now be pushed back to March 8th, 2019 (an “Untitled Disney Live-Action Fairy Tale Project” will be released on November 2nd, 2018 instead). Meanwhile, ‘Black Panther’ will instead be pushed forward to February 16th, 2018, making it the final film before the start of the events of ‘Avengers: Infinity War Part 1’. However, I’m not too sure about a February release, as I don’t feel that’s a month for big blockbusters. But hey, that’s the same thing I said about the August release for ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’, and that movie turned out to be a big hit.

In other Marvel news, three unannounced Marvel movies will be released on May 1st, 2020, July 10th, 2020, and November 6th, 2020 (presumably the first three Phase 4 movies).
