While people generally are moving towards streaming services and abandoning disc-based formats for their entertainment, there is still a sizable portion of viewers who still rent DVDs from Redbox, Netflix, or some other place I can’t think of. Anyway, Netflix has released a list of ‘Star Wars’ films (not including ‘The Force Awakens’), ranking them by most rented to least rented, and the results are quite interesting:
- Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
- Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope
- Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones
- Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace
- Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back
- Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi
Not to pick favorites, ’cause I love all ‘Star Wars’ films equally, but the fact that all three prequels beat ‘The Empire Strikes Back’, that only one film from the original trilogy is in the top 3, and that the most rented ‘Star Wars’ film is a prequel… is a huge slap in the face to the damn prequel haters. No one cares about the prequels, huh? Sure…
While Marvel fans are getting ready for the highly anticipated release of ‘Captain America: Civil War’, many are also just as excited for MCU Spider-Man’s first solo movie, ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’, which is scheduled to be released next year. It’s been said that upcoming Spidey movies are highly likely to include MCU characters we’ve already seen, and today, we got a confirmation that Robert Downey Jr. will reprise his role as Tony Stark/Iron Man in ‘Homecoming’, further tying the new Spider-Man to the larger MCU.
After the departure of Jenna Coleman at the end of Doctor Who Series 9, many wondered who would be the next companion to join the Doctor on his adventures. Well, it seems like a replacement has been found, and will be announced on Saturday during a soccer match. The new companion will probably be making his/her debut during this year’s Christmas special, which would then likely lead to the new companion’s adventures with the Doctor in Series 10 (scheduled to air in Spring 2017).
After filming on the upcoming MCU film, ‘Doctor Strange’, had officially concluded last week, many had wondered how soon we’d be getting the trailer. Well, it seems like the wait won’t be long, as it’s been announced that during Jimmy Kimmel Live’s week-long celebration of all things Marvel next week, Benedict Cumberbatch will be a guest on the show Tuesday, April 12th, and is expected to debut the first trailer to ‘Doctor Strange,’ which also means the trailer will most certainly be attached to showings of ‘Captain America: Civil War’ next month.
After months of no new updates regarding the international release of the mobile entry in the ‘Kingdom Hearts’ series, ‘Kingdom Hearts: Unchained χ[chi]’, Square-Enix has finally announced that the game will be available to download for iOS and Android devices in North America starting April 7th! In addition to the announcement, the above drawing was included too, drawn by series director, Tetsuya Nomura, as well as an interview where he states that being the game set earliest in the saga’s chronology, ‘Unchained χ[chi]’ can be experienced by people who have never played a ‘Kingdom Hearts’ game before, and the game will connect to all three titles in the upcoming collection, ‘Kingdom Hearts II.8 Final Chapter Prologue’.
Jamie Alexander, who has portrayed Lady Sif in both ‘Thor’ movies, as well in two guest appearances in ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’, isn’t exactly sure if she’ll reprise her role for the third ‘Thor’ movie, stating:
I am not 100% sure at this moment. I know that they’re changing things with the script and that sort of thing, so I am literally in limbo. I know probably less than you do about it. I would love to do it, but whether or not it’s going to work on my short hiatus from Blindspot I’m not sure. There could be a lot of factors when it comes to that decision.
However, she says that she’d love to reprise the role if offered, saying:
If I get to play her again, it’s absolutely gravy. That’s why when Marvel asked me if I would cross the Thor films into Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., I said yes. I love Clark Gregg; he is a fantastic guy and that whole cast is wonderful. They’re such a great, tight family over there and they’re more than welcoming. I also got to explore more of who Sif really is, and play around with humor a little bit with her, which I didn’t really get a chance to do in the films.
I really hope Lady Sif makes an appearance again, as she is one of my favorite characters from the ‘Thor’ films (next to Thor and Loki themselves).
Today, Marvel released the second trailer for the highly anticipated blockbuster, ‘Captain America: Civil War’, and boy there’s a lot of good stuff in it. While the past trailer focused on the relation between Cap and Bucky, this one shifted the focus to the animosity between Tony and Steve. Also in the trailer was a good look at both teams. And for the icing on the cake, we finally got our first good look at MCU Spider-Man (Guess they finally figured out how to market him)!!! MCU Spidey’s look definitely feels like it’s been taken straight out of the comics, including the eyes that change shape! Enjoy the trailer below:
